Randy Hansen

RandyBorn in West Seattle in 1954, Randy began playing guitar when he was ten and was introduced to the work of that other Seattle guitarist, Jimi Hendrix, when he was 13. It would prove a pivotal moment in his life.

Hansen recalls, “I didn’t understand why, but I was drawn to his music. I began trying to play along with his records, learning how he did it.”

By the age of 16 Randy performed with his first band, Popsicle. He turned pro at 18 when he joined the lounge band Kid Chrysler and the Cruisers and spent five years with the group touring Las Vegas, and the rest of America.

It was during that period of time that he began developing what would become his world renowned tribute to Jimi Hendrix. At first it was only a parody, but because of Hansen’s long time affinity and appreciation for Hendrix’s music, it became more. His playing coupled with costume and make up, made the transformation complete. Hansen’s own formidable music talent, combined with his unbridled energy has made him a sought out performer.
