Jeremy Cays

Jeremy Cays grew up in the small town of Sequim, WA. He began playing the piano by ear and composing music of his own at age 5. Although he took formal piano lessons as a child, his creative side was always in the forefront. At age 14, he decided to put his creativity to use by starting his first recording project (A New Journey). It took three years and a private loan to complete the recording, but because he produced it himself, Jeremy was able to gain invaluable experience working with several professionals in the business, including Grammy-Award winner, Nancy Rumbel. In the summer of 1998, A New Journey was finally released. Jeremy was just 17 years old at the time.

After high school, Jeremy enrolled in the Digital Music Program at Edmonds Community College. With a program comparable to that of the University of Washington, EdCC gave Jeremy the tools he needed to establish his own recording studio. After two years at EdCC, Jeremy began saving money for the equipment he would need.

By the fall of 2002, Jeremy’s studio was up and running. Since then, he has produced two new recordings – In the Quiet Moments, a collection of original solo piano pieces; and his newest release, Reflections of Christmas, a holiday album featuring Jeremy’s unique, contemporary arrangements of traditional Christmas songs.

Jeremy has spent the last 5 years working in his studio, helping others record their music. The studio features a beautiful 7’ Steinway grand piano, and plenty of room to record a small band or ensemble. The studio motto – “Professional quality, affordable rates.”

“It’s always a thrill to find a new young artist whose music is beautiful and interesting to listen to and Jeremy Cays’ music is just that. His first recording ‘A NEW JOURNEY’ is a wonderful opportunity to hear not only his fine musicianship as a pianist, but even more unique and rare, his wonderful skills as a composer. I am pleased to have performed on this release.”
