Singer-Songwriter Pete Droge has released four solo albums since his 1994 debut, Necktie Second, was released on Rick Rubin’s American Records. His latest effort, Skywatching, came out on Aimee Mann’s independent label collective, United Musicians. Droge is one-third of the group The Thorns along with Matthew Sweet and Shawn Mullins. Their harmony rich self-titled debut was released on Aware/Columbia in 2003. His songs have been featured in several major motion pictures including the smash hit Dumb and Dumber. Droge co-wrote and recorded the title track to Beautiful Girls with The Eurythmic’s Dave Stewart.
He can be seen on screen singing his original song ‘Small Time Blues’ in Cameron Crowe’s Academy Award and Golden Globe winner Almost Famous. Droge composed the scores for the feature-length documentary Catching Out and the award winning romantic comedy Tattoo, A Love Story. He has produced records for a baker’s dozen of artists including the solo debut Bayleaf from Pearl Jam guitarist Stone Gossard on Epic Records.
